Overview
The Trip Steps DocType is part of the VSD Fleet Management System (VSD Fleet MS). It is designed to record and track the different steps or stages of a trip, including locations, distances traveled, fuel consumption, and border crossings. This document is typically used as part of a broader trip management system to provide detailed insights into each stage of a vehicle's journey.
Accessing the Trip Steps Form
Log in to the VSD Fleet Management System.
Navigate to the Trip Steps section under the VSD Fleet MS module.
You can create new trip step entries or view existing steps within the system.
Field Overview
The Trip Steps form contains the following fields:
1. Location (Required)
Options: Trip Locations
Description: This field specifies the location where a particular step of the trip occurred. It links to the Trip Locations DocType, which contains predefined locations.
2. Distance
- Description: This field records the distance traveled during the step, typically measured in kilometers or miles.
3. Fuel Consumption Qty
- Description: This field tracks the amount of fuel consumed during this leg of the journey, typically measured in liters or gallons.
4. Location Type
- Description: This field identifies the type of location where the step occurred (e.g., a depot, city, checkpoint, etc.). It links to the Trip Locations Type DocType, which categorizes locations based on their type.
5. Is Local Border
- Description: A checkbox indicating whether the location is a local border crossing. Select this option if the step involves crossing a national border within the same country.
6. Is International Border
- Description: A checkbox indicating whether the location is an international border crossing. Select this option if the step involves crossing an international border between different countries.
Form Workflow
1. Creating a New Trip Step
- Click the New button in the Trip Steps list view to create a new entry for a trip step.
Fill in the following fields:
Location: Select the location for the current step of the trip from the Trip Locations list.
Distance: Enter the distance traveled during this step.
Fuel Consumption Qty: Specify the amount of fuel consumed during the trip step.
Location Type: Select the type of location from the Trip Locations Type list, such as a city or depot.
Is Local Border: Check this box if the trip step involves crossing a local border.
Is International Border: Check this box if the trip step involves crossing an international border.
Click Save to record the trip step.
